Jurgen Klopp, former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager, has responded to the wave of criticism following his recent appointment as Red Bull’s global head of soccer.

After leaving Liverpool over the summer, Klopp’s new role, starting January 1, will see him overseeing Red Bull’s network of clubs, including RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, and New York Red Bulls.
His responsibilities will include consulting on playing philosophy, recruitment, and working closely with coaching staff.
Despite the excitement surrounding his new role, some fans and officials, particularly in German football, have raised concerns.
His former club Mainz recently displayed banners disapproving of the move, and former player Kevin Grosskreutz voiced similar reservations.
Klopp addressed the controversy during an interview with Einfach mal Luppen, hosted by Toni and Felix Kroos, acknowledging that his decision was unlikely to satisfy everyone.
He shared his genuine admiration for all his former clubs but emphasized that he couldn’t cater to every expectation while making career choices.
Reflecting on his duties with Red Bull, Klopp described his role as a supportive consultant, bringing insight without overstepping into coaching.
He hopes his experience can bring balance and wisdom to different scenarios within the organization.
Klopp acknowledged the unique challenges of working within Germany’s football landscape, where fan-owned models are prevalent, but ultimately expressed contentment with his decision.
