Liverpool are widely considered favorites to win the Premier League this season, but Arsenal legend Martin Keown believes his former side still has a chance to catch up, provided the Reds stumble during a series of challenging away fixtures.

Currently sitting six points ahead of Arsenal with a game in hand, Liverpool appear to be in a commanding position.

However, a recent 2-2 draw against Manchester United, where they narrowly avoided defeat, showcased potential weaknesses in an otherwise dominant campaign.

Keown, analyzing Liverpool’s remaining fixtures, pointed out the difficulty of their upcoming matches.

The Reds still have to travel to Manchester City, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Chelsea, and Nottingham Forest—teams known for their resilience at home. Forest, in particular, remains the only side to have defeated Liverpool this season.

In comparison, Arsenal have already faced similar challenges, albeit with inconsistent results. Despite their struggles with injuries, Keown sees hope for Mikel Arteta’s team to capitalize on any Liverpool missteps, especially with a critical clash at Anfield looming on May 10.

Although Keown emphasized Liverpool’s superior form and their lethal attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, and others, he underlined that the title race is far from over.

For Arsenal, the focus must remain on staying competitive and recovering key players like Bukayo Saka to maintain pressure on their rivals.

For now, Liverpool will shift attention to domestic cup competitions before resuming their league campaign, while Arsenal will aim to bounce back and seize any opportunity that comes their way.
