Osimhen’s move to the Partenopei was initially celebrated as a €70 million deal, but new revelations have cast doubts over its transparency.
As part of the agreement, four Napoli players were included in the transfer, collectively valued at €20 million. However, none of these players ever featured for Lille, leading to questions about their true worth.
Speaking to L’Equipe TV, Letang explained, “The net amount, considering the player’s purchase, the four players valued at €20 million but worth nothing, intermediaries, and commissions, was €7 million, more or less.”
The revelation has reignited scrutiny over the deal, which is currently under investigation by authorities in both Italy and France.
While Napoli has already been cleared of any wrongdoing, the unusual details surrounding the transaction have raised concerns about the role of intermediaries and the inflated valuations of the players involved.
Osimhen, who has since become one of the world’s most sought-after strikers, continues to thrive at Napoli, but the financial details of his transfer remain a topic of heated discussion.
Whether further inquiries will uncover additional irregularities remains to be seen.
