Liverpool and Everton have issued a joint statement confirming that Saturday’s Premier League match at Goodison Park will proceed as scheduled, despite concerns about the severe weather conditions brought on by Storm Darragh.
The storm, expected to hit Merseyside, has led the Met Office to issue an amber weather warning for the region on Saturday. Strong winds, reaching gusts of 70 to 80mph along exposed coastlines and headlands, and 60 to 70mph inland, are forecast.
The Merseyside derby, scheduled for a 12:30pm kick-off, has prompted both clubs and local authorities to advise fans to take extra precautions.
Liverpool supporters, who will travel to Goodison Park for the match, have been advised to allow more time for their journey and to remain aware of the weather warnings issued by the Met Office.

If essential travel is necessary, please plan ahead and drive carefully. Pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists should be given extra space, as strong side winds could make conditions hazardous.”
