The Reds have built a four-point lead at the top of the table and could widen the gap further with a game in hand. Despite initial concerns following Jurgen Klopp’s departure, Liverpool have thrived under new manager Arne Slot, losing just once in 16 league games and accumulating an impressive 39 points.

Chelsea, currently Liverpool’s closest challengers, have surpassed expectations with their attacking flair, scoring more goals than any team this season.

They hold a two-point lead over Arsenal, who continue to chase a first league title after narrowly missing out over the past two seasons.

Sherwood had previously backed Arsenal as favorites to lift the trophy but changed his stance after witnessing Liverpool’s commanding victory over Tottenham.

“Liverpool look unstoppable right now,” Sherwood admitted on Premier League Productions. “I had Arsenal as my pick, but after watching Liverpool dismantle Spurs, I have to change my mind. They’re sensational at the moment.”

Gary Neville echoed Sherwood’s sentiment, declaring Liverpool the clear favorites for the title during his Sky Sports podcast.

“Right now, Liverpool are the best team in the league,” Neville said. “Manchester City’s form has dropped dramatically, and while Chelsea and Arsenal are doing well, Liverpool are in a class of their own.

The only real threat to their dominance is injuries – losing key players like Van Dijk or Salah would be a huge blow. Van Dijk is as vital to Liverpool as Rodri is to City, holding everything together at the back.”

Neville emphasized that while Liverpool are in a commanding position, the race isn’t over yet. With crucial matches ahead, keeping their squad fit will be essential for the Reds.

Liverpool will look to strengthen their grip on the top spot when they face Leicester City on Boxing Day. Meanwhile, second-placed Chelsea take on Fulham in a west London derby, and Arsenal meet Ipswich Town as the race heats up.
