Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Bayern Munich’s versatile star Joshua Kimmich as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who could leave the club soon.

Alexander-Arnold, now in the final six months of his contract, is free to negotiate with non-English clubs about a potential free transfer.

Real Madrid has emerged as a likely destination for the England international, with the Spanish giants making inquiries before the January transfer window. However, Liverpool quickly rejected their approach, unwilling to part ways with a crucial player mid-season.

Despite this, Liverpool must prepare for life without the 26-year-old if he decides to leave Anfield at the end of the season. According to reports from German outlet Bild, Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich is under consideration as a replacement.

Kimmich, like Alexander-Arnold, is in the final six months of his deal at Bayern and faces an uncertain future. Negotiations for an extension have stalled, leaving the 29-year-old’s next steps unclear.

In December, Kimmich expressed hope for a resolution, stating, “I will sit down in winter and see the bigger picture. In January, I will make the right decision.”

Meanwhile, Alexander-Arnold has remained tight-lipped about his future. Despite speculation and a lackluster performance against Manchester United last weekend, Liverpool manager Arne Slot dismissed claims that the rumors are affecting the full-back.

“I see him training every day, fully committed,” Slot said. “Speculation about players happens constantly at a club like Liverpool. If it destabilized them, we’d have faced problems long ago. Trent remains focused on giving his best for the team.”

With uncertainties surrounding both players, Liverpool and Bayern Munich face pivotal decisions in the months ahead.
