Liverpool are set to battle Serie A giants Juventus for the signature of Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Despite their dominant campaign, where Arne Slot’s side is 15 points clear of Arsenal and on course for a record-equalling 20th league title, concerns remain over the form of veteran left-back Andrew Robertson. The 31-year-old has struggled defensively this season, prompting the Reds to explore alternatives.
Kerkez has impressed for Bournemouth this season, with his standout moment being a stunning assist against Tottenham Hotspur, where he intercepted a pass near his own box and delivered a pinpoint cross for Marcus Tavernier to score. His energy and creativity down the left flank have drawn attention from Liverpool, who see him as a potential successor to Robertson.

However, Juventus are also pushing to sign the 21-year-old Hungarian as a replacement for Andrea Cambiaso, who is reportedly heading to Manchester City. This could complicate Liverpool’s pursuit of the highly-rated defender.
While Robertson put in a solid display against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, such performances have been rare this season. Kerkez’s arrival could provide much-needed competition and energy on the left side of defence.
Despite the interest in Kerkez, Liverpool may prioritize other areas in the squad. With striker Darwin Nunez expected to leave and uncertainty surrounding the futures of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah, and Virgil van Dijk, Slot could be forced to focus on reinforcing the attack and defence elsewhere.

If Liverpool hesitate, Juventus could take advantage and secure Kerkez, leaving the Reds to rely on Robertson for another season.
