Liverpool’s quest for an unprecedented quadruple has gained momentum after a dominant 4-1 aggregate victory over Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semi-finals. Arne Slot’s side is now the clear favorite to beat Newcastle in the final at Wembley on March 16 and claim the first major trophy of the season.
But that’s just the beginning. The Reds also hold a commanding position in the Premier League title race, topped their Champions League group, and have a favorable FA Cup draw.
With everything going their way, the big question remains—can they really win all four major trophies in Slot’s debut season

No. While some teams have claimed four or more trophies in a season, the quadruple remains elusive. It’s considered the hardest feat in club football—though not impossible.
Liverpool came agonizingly close in 2021/22, winning the FA Cup and Carabao Cup before narrowly losing the Premier League title to Manchester City by a single point and falling to Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
Only two English clubs have completed the prestigious continental treble—Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League—Manchester United (1998/99) and Manchester City (2022/23). City also completed a domestic treble (Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup) in 2018/19, a feat unmatched in English football.
Liverpool are Betfair’s favorites for the Carabao Cup, though Newcastle pose a real challenge after their emphatic 4-0 semi-final win over Arsenal.
In the Premier League, the Reds hold a six-point advantage over Arsenal with a game in hand. That additional fixture, a Merseyside derby against Everton at Goodison Park, could further cement their title charge.
Liverpool’s Champions League campaign has also been dominant, winning seven of eight group-stage games. They’re slight favorites to lift the trophy but will have to navigate a tricky last-16 clash against either Brest vs. PSG or Monaco vs. Benfica, with the draw set for February 21.
The FA Cup remains the most unpredictable challenge. Manchester City are favorites, but Liverpool could gain an edge depending on this weekend’s results and draw. They should progress to the fifth round comfortably, facing Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle next.
Liverpool’s Trophy Odds (via Betfair):
Carabao Cup: 2/5
Premier League: 1/4
Champions League: 4/1
FA Cup: 4/1
Domestic Treble (PL, FA Cup, Carabao Cup): 10/1
Continental Treble (PL, FA Cup, UCL): 22/1
Quadruple: 35/1 (was 400/1 at the start of the season)
No Trophies: 15/2
Despite the hype, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk is refusing to get carried away. After scoring in the Carabao Cup semi-final, he played down the quadruple talk.

“Our expectation is to win every game—not think about the quadruple or what could happen in May,” he told CBS.
He acknowledged the challenges ahead but remains optimistic: “Hopefully, we stay in every competition, and that will be fantastic. We just have to enjoy the whole ride together.”
Liverpool fans have every reason to dream, but history suggests this will be an uphill battle. Could this be the season an English club finally pulls it off?
