Liverpool are proving to be the toughest team to break down and look set to avoid defeat in Paris. Less than a month ago, England’s Elliot Daly sealed a dramatic 26-25 Six Nations victory over France with a last-minute try, delivering one of the most thrilling sporting moments of the year.

The first leg of this blockbuster round-of-16 tie takes place at the Parc des Princes before shifting to Anfield for the return fixture. Arne Slot’s Liverpool topped the newly structured Champions League group format, while PSG had a shaky start before gaining momentum with crucial wins—beating RB Salzburg 3-0.

Liverpool’s attack remains as deadly as ever, with Mohamed Salah still at the top of his game, but PSG are firing on all cylinders, looking even more dangerous than during the era of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe. The problem with that legendary trio was their lack of defensive work, a flaw that cost PSG dearly at the highest level.

Despite their progress, PSG must have dreaded the moment they were drawn against Liverpool. Though the Reds have shown slight vulnerabilities in recent weeks, the French champions will likely have to wait another season before truly challenging Europe’s elite.

Elsewhere in the Champions League, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Inter Milan are strong contenders to win their respective first-leg fixtures, making for an enticing accumulator bet.
