The thrilling Serie A showdown took place at the Gewiss Stadium on Saturday night, where Lookman was a standout, racking up two goals and two assists to lead his team to victory.
The 27-year-old forward played a pivotal role, first assisting Marten de Roon to open the scoring and later setting up Charles De Ketelaere for Atalanta’s third goal. Lookman then found the net himself, scoring Atalanta’s fourth and fifth goals in a dominant first-half performance.
Reflecting on the match, Lookman praised his team’s collective effort. “Another good performance from the team. The first half was very, very good; we scored five goals, and everyone was top,” Lookman told Sky Sport Italia.
Lookman is now gearing up for the Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday, adding extra excitement to an already successful season. “It’s a massive moment for the club and also for me—a special, special moment. We made history last year, thanks to everyone. We’ll continue to work hard and keep going,” Lookman said, looking forward to what lies ahead.
