Ex-Nigerian international Dosu Joseph has expressed confidence that Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman will emerge as the African Player of the Year.

Dosu’s optimism stems from Lookman’s remarkable performances for both club and country in 2023.
The winger was instrumental in Atalanta’s Europa League triumph, scoring a decisive hat trick in the final.
Additionally, Lookman played a pivotal role in the Super Eagles’ journey to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
In an interview with softfootball.com, Dosu, an Atlanta 1996 Olympic gold medalist, lauded Lookman’s consistency and contributions.
“I am expecting Lookman to win the African Player of the Year award,” Dosu stated. “He has delivered for both Atalanta and the Super Eagles. The other nominees simply can’t match his achievements this year.”
Dosu highlighted Lookman’s standout moments, emphasizing his brilliance in the Europa League final and his stellar performance during the AFCON tournament. “He truly deserves this recognition,” he concluded.
