Jude Bellingham believes Luka Modric is “from a different planet” after the 39-year-old scored a breathtaking goal during Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Girona on Sunday.

Modric, who turns 40 in September, continues to perform at the highest level.

He started the match alongside Aurelien Tchouameni in midfield and opened the scoring with a spectacular strike at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Croatian star has already played 24 times in La Liga and made 10 Champions League appearances this season, showcasing his enduring brilliance.

Bellingham, 18 years younger than Modric, is amazed by his teammate’s consistent excellence.

After the game, Bellingham shared a video of Modric celebrating on Instagram, captioning it: “From a different planet @lukamodric10 👽.”

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti also showered praise on Modric, likening him to AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini. “Modric is a gift for football,” Ancelotti said. “He should continue as long as he wants.

His quality and professionalism are extraordinary. Football and Real Madrid are lucky to have him as a legend. Like Maldini, he’s a perfect role model.

Their longevity comes from their genes but, more importantly, their dedication and attitude.”

Modric’s goal kept Real Madrid level on points with Barcelona at the top of La Liga, with Atletico Madrid trailing by just one point, setting the stage for an intense title race.

Reflecting on his goal, Modric told Real Madrid TV, “I don’t know if it’s my most spectacular, but it was a nice one. It’s always special to score at the Bernabeu. We’re in good form, but we must keep improving as a team.”

After signing a contract extension last season, Modric is reportedly planning another 12-month renewal with Real Madrid. He also hopes to lead Croatia at the 2026 World Cup.

Since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012, Modric has made 574 appearances for Real Madrid, winning six Champions League titles and four La Liga championships—cementing his legacy as one of the game’s greatest midfielders.
