Belgian forward Dodi Lukebakio has praised Chidera Ejuke’s impact since joining Sevilla this summer, highlighting his skill and importance to the team, Soccernet.ng reports.
Ejuke made the move to Sevilla after his contract with CSKA Moscow expired, bringing with him a reputation as one of the top dribblers in his previous leagues. Although he faced challenges in securing playing time initially, things have improved recently.
Three weeks ago, Ejuke scored his first goal for Sevilla, a crucial strike that led to a victory against Valladolid. He seems to have secured a spot as the first-choice left winger for the team.
Lukebakio, who played alongside Ejuke at Hertha Berlin before joining Sevilla last season, expressed his delight at reuniting with the Nigerian. He emphasized their teamwork and mutual support on the pitch, aiming to enhance their partnership for the benefit of the club.
“Ejuke is giving us a lot of joy and I’m happy for him; he’s very important for us,” Lukebakio said, according to Estadio Deportivo. “We’ve already played together in Berlin, and doing so now in a great club like this is special.
“We’re focused on working together to score more goals and help the team climb the table.”
Currently ranked among the top five dribblers in La Liga, Ejuke will be key in aiding Sevilla’s push to improve their standing as they sit in 12th place.
