Why Chelsea and Manchester City are Involved

Chelsea qualified for the Club World Cup by winning the Champions League within the past four seasons. Only the top-ranking clubs in each continental confederation qualify, with Europe receiving the most spots. While Manchester City and Chelsea both earned a place through their Champions League victories, clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool missed out.

Club World Cup Format

The 32 teams will be split into eight groups of four, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage. FIFA has confirmed that no group can feature more than one team from the same confederation, except for European teams, which can have two teams per group. The tournament kicks off with Inter Miami hosting the opening match on June 15, 2025.

Stay tuned for more details as the draw unfolds!
