Manchester City’s poor form and mounting injuries have fueled transfer speculations, but Pep Guardiola’s side will not be pursuing Bruno Guimaraes or Martin Zubimendi in January.

Despite Rodri’s absence and Ilkay Gundogan’s lackluster return, City is opting for internal solutions rather than seeking reinforcements.

City’s Struggles and Transfer Stance

City has been grappling with key injuries this season, with Rodri sidelined and Oscar Bobb ruled out for the year.

Gundogan’s underwhelming return after his Barcelona stint, coupled with Mateo Kovacic and Bernardo Silva’s struggles, has highlighted the midfield gaps.

While Zubimendi was linked to Liverpool in the summer, Arsenal has emerged as his likely destination due to connections with Sociedad’s outgoing sporting director.

Guardiola’s Faith in Haaland

Despite Erling Haaland’s goal drought, Guardiola has dismissed changes to his approach. The manager believes that the team’s faltering creativity, not Haaland’s form, is to blame.

“We need to play better and create spaces for him,” Guardiola stated, reaffirming his commitment to the current system.

City’s refusal to act in January underscores Guardiola’s belief in his squad’s potential to rebound without outside help.
