Diogo Dalot has revealed that Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim was taken aback by the relentless support the club receives, even during tough times.
Amorim, who has endured a difficult tenure with United sitting 13th in the Premier League, has made sure his squad understands just how fortunate they are to have such devoted fans.
Though United still have chances to win silverware in the FA Cup and Europa League, their inconsistent league form has raised doubts. Yet, the fans have remained steadfast, something Dalot believes is rare in football.
“I’ve never seen a big club lose so many games and still have fans clapping, encouraging, and showing faith,” Dalot told club media.

“In other countries, you don’t get that kind of support. It’s easy to take it for granted, but Amorim pointed it out immediately—he made sure we knew how lucky we are.”
Recalling a 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, Dalot said the away fans still cheered them on, a moment that highlighted the unique bond between United and their supporters.
Amorim himself acknowledged this after a recent 1-0 win over Fulham, expressing gratitude to the traveling fans. “They deserve this. It’s incredible, and it’s not normal in football,” he told TNT Sports. “We’re privileged to represent this club, and we want to keep rewarding them with victories.”
Despite the team’s struggles, Amorim remains determined to turn things around, emphasizing that improvement is the priority.
