The 21-year-old Hungarian international has been a standout player in Bournemouth’s strong start to the Premier League season under manager Andoni Iraola. Despite losing star striker Dominic Solanke to Tottenham in the summer, the Cherries have defied expectations, securing impressive victories against Manchester City and Arsenal to rise to 12th place in the league table—currently sitting above Manchester United.
Kerkez, who joined Bournemouth from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar for £15.5m in July 2023, has quickly become a key player at the Vitality Stadium. His performances, including two assists in the recent shock 2-1 win over reigning champions Manchester City, have attracted the attention of Premier League giants United and Liverpool, according to Relevo.
Although there are no formal talks yet, both clubs are monitoring Kerkez closely. With January approaching, discussions could intensify as both United and Liverpool look to strengthen their squads.
Kerkez’s versatility and work rate have drawn praise from Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, who highlighted the defender’s ability to finish matches strongly:
“He’s adding small things to his game—finishing strong, doing his job defensively, and showing resilience even when tired. The team needs that.”
The Hungarian international, who represented his country at Euro 2024, has already amassed 44 appearances for Bournemouth. Previously on the books of AC Milan, Kerkez never made a first-team appearance for the Serie A club but has since emerged as one of the Premier League’s brightest young talents.
With top clubs circling, Bournemouth may face a tough challenge to retain the dynamic left-back, whose energy and creativity have been vital to their success this season.
Stay tuned as the January window promises an intriguing battle for one of the league’s rising stars.
