Manchester United winger Antony has reportedly decided against joining Greek champions Olympiacos on loan during the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old Brazilian, who arrived at Old Trafford in a blockbuster £82 million move from Ajax in 2022, has struggled to meet expectations, with just five Premier League goals to his name over two-and-a-half seasons.
Speculation has mounted regarding Antony’s potential departure, especially as the winger has been limited to substitute appearances under manager Ruben Amorim.
Reports suggested Olympiacos was exploring a loan deal to bolster their attack, but according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the move is unlikely. Antony does not view the Greek club as a priority, and discussions have not progressed.
Despite interest from teams in Spain, Italy, and other European leagues, Manchester United is hesitant to cover Antony’s full salary during a loan spell.
His agent, Junior Pedroso, has confirmed that while clubs have shown interest, United’s management has not communicated any intention to offload the player.
Antony remains focused on regaining his form and place in the squad. Whether he stays at Old Trafford or moves elsewhere, the coming months will be pivotal for the Brazilian as he strives to fulfill the promise that brought him to the Premier League.
