Van Nistelrooy, who took interim charge after Erik ten Hag’s dismissal, led United to a victory over Leicester City and secured a draw with Chelsea.

He is set to manage two more games against PAOK in the Europa League and Leicester in the Premier League before Amorim officially takes over.

Despite initially stepping into management, Van Nistelrooy has expressed his commitment to stay at United in any role that Amorim sees fit.

He shared, “Coming to United was a great opportunity for me, and I made a deliberate choice to support the club. I am fully focused on helping here.”

The Sun reports that Van Nistelrooy has gained the full support of United’s squad, impressing them with his leadership and dedication to individual player development. Darren Fletcher, a well-liked first-team coach, is also someone the squad hopes will stay.

Whether Van Nistelrooy and Fletcher will be retained under Amorim remains uncertain, as United continues negotiations to bring in the Portuguese manager’s preferred backroom staff.
