Manchester United are looking to offload winger Antony after two disappointing seasons at Old Trafford. The Brazilian, signed for £85m from Ajax in 2022, has struggled to make an impact, scoring just 12 goals in 85 appearances.
Antony’s form in his second season was particularly underwhelming, and he has since fallen down the pecking order. He is now the fourth-choice winger, behind Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo, and Alejandro Garnacho. This season, Antony has only started once, in a League Cup match against Barnsley, where he scored a penalty in a 7-0 win.
With Manchester United facing financial pressures, especially if they fail to qualify for the Champions League, the club is considering selling Antony. However, they are reportedly asking for £40m, a figure that could deter potential buyers unless a club from Saudi Arabia shows interest. His £150,000-a-week wages and four years remaining on his contract further complicate a potential transfer.
