Manchester United’s Lisandro Martinez was stretchered off in tears after suffering a painful knee injury during Sunday’s match against Crystal Palace. The Argentina international went down awkwardly while challenging Ismaila Sarr and immediately signaled for a substitution.
Martinez, clearly in distress, clutched his knee as medical staff rushed to his aid. He was replaced by Matthijs de Ligt in the 82nd minute, his anguish evident as he left the field on a stretcher.

The 27-year-old had been enjoying a relatively injury-free campaign, making his 20th Premier League start of the season.
This was a welcome change from last season, when multiple fitness setbacks limited him to just 11 league appearances. However, this latest setback could now see him sidelined once again.

Martinez’s injury compounded a miserable afternoon for United, who fell to a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford.
Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta struck twice, scoring in the 64th and 89th minutes to secure all three points for Oliver Glasner’s side.

The loss sees Palace leapfrog United in the Premier League table, moving up to 12th place—one point ahead of the struggling Red Devils.
