Marcus Rashford Could Be Making a Huge Mistake by Leaving Man United

Alan Shearer has told Marcus Rashford to “sort himself out” amid speculation that he could leave Manchester United this January.

Shearer believes that a transfer would be “really difficult,” and that Rashford needs to focus on his form before thinking about his England career.

Rashford, 27, has been a loyal servant to Manchester United since joining as a seven-year-old, and has played over 400 matches for the club.

However, after being left out of last month’s Manchester derby by manager Ruben Amorim, Rashford spoke candidly about his desire for a change.

“If I know that a situation is already bad, I’m not going to make it worse,” Rashford said. “When I leave, it’s going to be no hard feelings. I’ll make a statement, and it’ll be from me.” He added that he felt “ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”

Rashford’s poor form contributed to his exclusion from England’s Euro 2024 squad, and his chances of returning to the national team look slim under new manager Thomas Tuchel.

Shearer has weighed in, stating that Rashford needs to “sort himself out” before entertaining any thoughts of reviving his international career. “Hard work and the correct attitude will see him get back to his best,” Shearer told Betfair. Rashford Out of Favor at United Napoli Eye Swap with Osimhen as the player’s performances fail to meet expectations.

Shearer also believes that Rashford must focus on fixing his current issues with Manchester United before contemplating a move away. “You can’t just flick a switch and get back to your best form,” Shearer added. “Everyone goes through tough periods, but the way forward is to work hard and keep your head down.”

He believes Rashford’s focus should be on his club career before looking at England, as his situation with the national team has become “stale.” With his lack of recent appearances for both Manchester United and England, Shearer feels it’s too early to think about his future with the Three Lions.

As for a potential transfer, Shearer expressed doubt that Rashford would move to another Premier League club. “I’d be amazed if he moves to another Premier League team,”

Shearer said. Despite being linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Marcus Rashford turns down £675k-a-week offer from Saudi clubs to leave Manchester United, showing that he is carefully considering his options.

Shearer added that a January transfer would be tough to pull off due to various logistical challenges. “There’s a lot to consider—first, you need to agree on a fee, then a salary,” Shearer noted. Given Rashford’s high wages at United, Shearer doesn’t think another Premier League club would match his current pay.

“Just because the media isn’t talking about it doesn’t mean clubs aren’t making inquiries,” he added. Marcus Rashford’s Struggles Under Ruben Amorim Raise Questions About His Future as the complexities of a move may outweigh the possibilities.

“Many things need to be sorted out in a transfer,” Shearer concluded. “It’s a difficult situation, and I believe it will be hard to complete a deal in January.”
