Marcus Rashford is back in Manchester United’s squad for Monday night’s Premier League clash against Newcastle. Manager Ruben Amorim confirmed that the forward’s return is largely due to the absence of key players.

Rashford had been left out of the squad for four consecutive matches, missing United’s win over Manchester City and subsequent losses to Tottenham, Bournemouth, and Wolves.
However, with Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte suspended and Mason Mount sidelined by injury, Rashford has been included for the game at Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old begins on the bench but will hope to make an impact if called upon. Speaking to Sky Sports, Amorim explained his decision: “We have a lot of players out. I choose my players each week, and this time he’s here.”
United’s starting attack features Rasmus Højlund supported by Joshua Zirkzee and Amad Diallo. In midfield, Christian Eriksen and Casemiro step in for the absent Fernandes and Ugarte, with wing-backs Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot providing width.
The defense comprises Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, and Lisandro Martinez, shielding goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Amorim’s tenure at Manchester United has been challenging, with just four wins in his first 10 matches. Despite poor results, he remains committed to his preferred 3-4-3 formation.
“I won’t change my tactics,” Amorim stated. “Changing due to results is the end for any coach. I was hired for this idea, and even in tough times, abandoning it would mean failure. However, I am working to make the team more compact and improve our set pieces, as these moments can turn games around.”
As United look to bounce back from their recent struggles, Rashford’s return offers a glimmer of hope for the Red Devils faithful.
