Noussair Mazraoui has voiced his frustration with Manchester United’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea, insisting that the Red Devils deserved more than a single point from the encounter at Old Trafford.

Despite a tightly contested game that saw few clear-cut chances in the first half, United appeared poised for a win after Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty in the 70th minute.

However, their lead was short-lived, as Moises Caicedo equalized with a volley just minutes later, ensuring Chelsea left with a point.

Speaking with MUTV post-match, Mazraoui disagreed with the suggestion that the draw was a fair outcome. “I don’t agree,” said the Moroccan full-back. “We fought really hard, and if you look at the game and the chances we created, we deserved to win.”

United had late opportunities to reclaim the lead, with Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho both firing efforts over the bar. Ultimately, they could not capitalize, leaving the team stuck in a disappointing 13th place on the Premier League table.

Mazraoui, who joined from Bayern Munich, has impressed fans with his performances, yet he acknowledges the team’s need for significant improvement.

Reflecting on their poor form, he commented, “I think if you look at the table now, you cannot say that is where we belong. We have too much quality to be in this position.”

United’s tally of just 12 points from 10 games, with only nine goals scored, has underscored their worst-ever start to a Premier League season.

Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy expressed similar sentiments, highlighting Mazraoui’s solid performance alongside defensive stalwarts Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt.

“I felt slightly disappointed that we didn’t take the three points. This is the way forward for this group of players, and I saw some excellent performances today,” Van Nistelrooy told Sky Sports, noting that Bruno Fernandes’ leadership in taking the penalty showed strong initiative.

As United aims to climb out of this slump, both Mazraoui and Van Nistelrooy remain focused on turning their quality performances into consistent results.
