Super Eagles winger Nathan Tella played a key role as Bayer Leverkusen battled to a hard-fought goalless draw against Bayern Munich in Saturday’s Bundesliga showdown. The match, filled with intensity and tactical discipline, saw Leverkusen put up a resilient performance against the defending champions.

Tella, making his 18th appearance of the season, was a lively presence on the pitch, constantly driving forward and creating attacking opportunities. The Nigerian international, who has registered one goal and two assists this campaign, came agonizingly close to adding to his tally.

On multiple occasions, he unleashed dangerous attempts on goal, only to be denied by the crossbar, frustrating his hopes of breaking the deadlock.Despite his tireless efforts and dynamic display, Tella was substituted in the 85th minute, making way for Amine Adli as Leverkusen sought fresh legs in the closing stages of the encounter.

His performance, however, highlighted his growing influence in Xabi Alonso’s squad as Leverkusen continue their strong push in the Bundesliga title race.

Meanwhile, his compatriot Victor Boniface remained on the bench for the entire duration of the match, missing out on the opportunity to feature in the high-stakes clash. The draw keeps Leverkusen in second place with 47 points, maintaining pressure on Bayern Munich, who continue to lead the Bundesliga table with 55 points.
