The two players met multiple times during Hazard’s successful tenure at Chelsea, and Ndidi has since acknowledged the Belgian’s incredible abilities on the field.
Hazard was widely regarded as one of the most formidable forwards in the Premier League during his peak, known for his flair, speed, and exceptional dribbling.
Ndidi, speaking to the English Premier League’s YouTube channel, praised Hazard’s sharpness and ability to change direction effortlessly. He recalled how, when closing in on Hazard, the Belgian would quickly switch direction, leaving defenders stranded.
“Eden Hazard. He’s so good. He was so strong and he was so sharp,” said the 27-year-old Nigerian midfielder. “When you’re getting close to him, he can just change direction and then changing direction. He’s so sharp, before you realize, he’s gone.”
Ndidi, who joined Leicester City from Belgian side KRC Genk in January 2017, has become a key figure for the Foxes over the years.
With 230 league appearances and 11 goals to his name, the Nigerian continues to be a vital player for Leicester, while Hazard’s talents still resonate as one of the most difficult challenges Ndidi has faced in his career.
