Boxing promoter Frank Warren tried to persuade Neymar to join Arsenal during a boxing event in Saudi Arabia. The Brazilian forward, who currently plays for Al-Hilal, attended the match between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol on Saturday night.
Sitting ringside with Neymar, Warren, a lifelong Arsenal supporter, attempted to recruit him, saying, “This is the man, he’s coming to England, he’s going to play for Arsenal.” Neymar laughed in response, and Warren added, “We need you, we need you,” to which Neymar replied, “I’m back, I’m back.”
Neymar joined Al-Hilal from PSG for €90 million (£77.2m) in August 2023 but suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament after just five appearances, sidelining him for the remainder of the season. He recently returned to training, while Al-Hilal currently leads the Saudi Pro League, three points ahead of Al-Ittihad.
