McKenna’s journey to managerial success is noteworthy; after an early injury cut short his playing career, he progressed quickly through coaching roles at Tottenham and Manchester United, even serving as an assistant under Jose Mourinho.
At Ipswich, McKenna achieved back-to-back promotions, leading the team from League One to the Premier League.
Despite a challenging start in the top tier, with Ipswich still seeking their first victory after ten games, Butt admires McKenna’s skills, placing him on par with celebrated coaches like Carlos Queiroz and Steve McClaren.
Butt suggested McKenna could thrive with top teams like Arsenal and commended him for staying loyal to Ipswich despite summer interest from United and Chelsea.
