The nine-time African champions were announced as winners during the prestigious CAF Awards ceremony held on Monday in Marrakech, Morocco.

In addition to the team’s recognition, Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, was honored as the Best Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year.

This marks her second win in this category, having previously secured the award in 2023. Nnadozie’s stellar performances have also earned her a spot on the final shortlist for the Women’s Player of the Year award.

On the men’s side, reigning AFCON champions Côte d’Ivoire were named the Men’s National Team of the Year, edging out Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

South African and Mamelodi Sundowns star Ronwen Williams claimed two individual honors, taking home the Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year and the Interclub Player of the Year awards.

Williams is also in contention for the Men’s Player of the Year award, making the final five-man shortlist.
