Nnadozie To Battle Banda, Chawinga For 2024 CAF Women’s Player Of The Year Award

    Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has earned a spot in the final shortlist for the 2024 CAF Women’s Player of the Year award.

    Announced via CAF’s X handle, the list features five nominees, including Zambia’s Barbara Banda, Malawi’s Temwa and Tabitha Chawinga, and Morocco’s Sanaa Mssoudy.

    Nnadozie also competes for the Goalkeeper of the Year award, facing off against South Africa’s Andile Dlamini, Morocco’s Khadija Er-rmichi, Egypt’s Habiba Sabry, and DR Congo’s Fideline Ngoy.

    The Super Falcons’ first-choice goalkeeper previously won this award at the 2023 CAF Awards.

    Nigeria’s Strong Presence in CAF Awards

    Nigeria’s women’s team is a contender for National Team of the Year alongside Cameroon, Morocco, Zambia, and South Africa.

    Edo Queens, the fourth-place finishers at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League, will compete for Club of the Year against TP Mazembe, FC Masar, ASFAR, and Mamelodi Sundowns.

    Individual Stars in the Spotlight

    Falconets striker Chiamaka Okwuchukwu is in the running for Young Player of the Year, while Christopher Danjuma is nominated for Coach of the Year
