Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has addressed the speculation surrounding a potential move for Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel. The Fenerbahce right-back is in the final year of his contract and has drawn interest from clubs across Europe, including in the Premier League and Ligue 1.
While Fenerbahce is working to negotiate a new contract for Osayi-Samuel, rumors about his future have intensified. He has been linked to Galatasaray, where his international teammate Victor Osimhen reportedly wants him to join.
In his pre-match press conference, Buruk stated, “So far, we have had no contact or talks with Bright Osayi-Samuel. We are not currently working on a transfer.”
Nevertheless, reports suggest Osimhen is attempting to influence Osayi-Samuel’s move to Galatasaray as the January transfer window approaches.
Galatasaray faces competition from Lille, who are keen on signing Osayi-Samuel, especially after an injury to their right-back, Tiago Santos. Lille is reportedly preparing a long-term deal, aiming to secure Osayi-Samuel for a transfer fee of around €2-2.5 million in January, viewing it as a prime opportunity since his contract expires at the season’s end.
