Victor Osimhen’s recent arrival at Galatasaray has raised concerns about the competitive fairness of the Turkish Super Lig. The Nigerian forward, on a season-long loan from Napoli, has already made an impact, including a stunning goal in Galatasaray’s clash with Antalyaspor.

Former Fenerbahçe winger Abdullah Ercan, speaking on A Spor, expressed his worries about the combination of Osimhen and Mauro Icardi, saying it creates an imbalance in the league. “Having both Icardi and Osimhen at Galatasaray puts other teams at a significant disadvantage,” Ercan remarked.
Osimhen has praised his new teammates, calling Icardi a “legend” and emphasizing how he hopes to learn from both Icardi and Michy Batshuayi. After a dominant 5-0 win, Osimhen said, “Playing alongside Icardi and Batshuayi will improve my game. We’ll work together to raise our quality.”
The Nigerian striker is aiming to leave a mark at Galatasaray before his loan expires in June 2025, adding a new dimension to an already formidable squad.
