Victor Osimhen believes Galatasaray can take pride in their performance despite being held to a 3-3 draw by Kasimpasa in Sunday’s Istanbul derby. The Nigerian forward, who scored twice in the match, acknowledged the team’s disappointment but emphasized their determination to keep pushing for the league title.
With 16 goals and four assists in 20 league appearances this season, Osimhen has been instrumental in Galatasaray’s campaign. However, he admitted that missing out on maximum points after such a hard-fought match was frustrating. “I would say disappointment.
Osimhen highlighted the challenges of playing in a competitive league, where small mistakes can be costly. “Football is like that sometimes. This is a really tough league. You have to fight well from the first minute to the last minute. You can be punished very quickly. We continue in the championship race. We have all the quality needed to win.”

Despite the setback, the 26-year-old remains fully committed to Galatasaray’s success. “I love this team very much. I love my teammates very much, too. I want to do everything for success. I want to support them. I think my friends have the same mentality, it doesn’t matter if they are in the first 11 or on the bench, it is very important for everyone to fight together,” he added.
Osimhen also praised the unity between the players, coach, and fans, insisting that teamwork will be key to securing the league title. “We feel united with our coach, as players, and with our fans. Sometimes, even if I don’t score, I mark and help the defense.
