Pascal addressed the Confederation of African Football (CAF), asserting that Lookman’s achievements this year make him a deserving candidate for the honor.
Lookman recently made headlines as the only African player to feature in the Ballon d’Or ranking, securing the 15th position, a testament to his influence on the global stage.
Since the beginning of the season, Lookman has been in fine form for Atalanta in Serie A, showcasing consistent goal-scoring abilities that have earned him widespread admiration.
In a conversation with Brila FM, Pascal expressed that CAF might face backlash if they overlook Lookman.
“If Ademola Lookman doesn’t win this CAF award, journalists will finish CAF. The whole world will finish them,” Pascal remarked. “What are you going to tell people? So Ademola Lookman stands a good chance to win.”
The African Player of the Year winner will be announced on December 16 in Marrakesh, Morocco, with Lookman standing among the top contenders for this coveted title.
He deserves the award for his football exploits this year, starting from African Cup of Nations, EUROPA CUP FINAL, Italian Serie A match and 2024/25 EUROPEAN CHAMPION LEAGUE performance n
