Paul Parker has advised Antony to end his troubled time at Manchester United and return to Ajax. The Brazilian winger, who joined United in a £85m deal over two years ago on Ten Hag’s recommendation, has struggled to live up to his hefty price tag.
Despite scoring in the 7-0 EFL Cup win over Barnsley, Antony has only made two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season. While Newcastle and Crystal Palace have been linked with a potential January move for him, Parker believes Antony should leave English football entirely and head back to Ajax, where he originally found success.
Parker criticized Antony’s lack of physicality and technical ability, stating, “He just isn’t good enough. He doesn’t have the presence or strength to succeed in the Premier League.” He also expressed concern about Antony’s left-footed play, claiming it lacks the power and technique typical of skilled left-footed players.
Parker believes returning to Ajax would be the best option for Antony’s career, preventing him from following the same disappointing path as Donny van de Beek.
