Borussia Dortmund’s latest English sensation, Jamie Gittens, has emerged as a prime target for top Premier League clubs, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea all reportedly in the race for his signature.
The 20-year-old winger, who spent time in Reading, Chelsea, and Manchester City’s youth academies before moving to Germany, has flourished at Dortmund, making 22 Bundesliga appearances this season and scoring seven goals. He has also impressed in the Champions League, netting four times in nine matches.

Despite his strong performances, Gittens has yet to break into England’s senior team, though he has been a regular for the Under-21 squad since debuting in September 2023. His rapid development has sparked interest from several Premier League giants, with Dortmund preparing for summer bids.
Manchester United have reportedly initiated contact with Gittens’ representatives, hoping to gain an early advantage over their rivals. Liverpool and Chelsea are also monitoring the winger, while Arsenal have been linked with him in the past.
According to German outlet BILD, Dortmund would consider selling Gittens if a club meets their £83m (€100m) asking price. The youngster is under contract until 2028, but Sky Sports previously reported that he is keen on a Premier League move.
Gittens left England at 16 without making a senior appearance, opting for Dortmund’s renowned development system. While the German club is open to a sale, they are not desperate to offload him. Dortmund’s managing director, Carsten Cramer, previously stated: “Our ambition is to keep him playing for us as long as possible. It’s not about making money quickly; we want to keep him.”
Reflecting on his growth in Germany, Gittens told Bundesliga.com: “I’m much more mature on and off the pitch. My game understanding has improved, especially defensively. I’ve also learned not to dwell on criticism.”
On his move abroad, he added: “It wasn’t easy. Sometimes I wonder how things could have been different, but I’m grateful to be here, playing for Borussia Dortmund.”
As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on whether a Premier League club meets Dortmund’s demands to bring Gittens back to England.
