Marcus Rashford’s turbulent season at Manchester United has taken an unexpected twist. A month after declaring his desire for a “new challenge,” the 27-year-old forward is reportedly ready to play for the Red Devils again, despite his ongoing exclusion from the squad.

Rashford shocked fans in December by announcing, “I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps,” after being dropped from the Manchester derby squad.

Since then, he has been left out of eight of the last nine matchday squads, raising questions about his role under head coach Ruben Amorim.

Speculation about a January exit intensified, with Borussia Dortmund leading the race to sign him on loan.

Clubs around the world have expressed interest, but Rashford’s £325,000-a-week wages remain a major obstacle to any transfer.

Now, fresh reports from The Telegraph reveal that Rashford is “ready and willing” to return to the team if Amorim gives him the nod.

Despite his public comments, the England international has not formally requested to leave the club he has been with since his youth.

Determined to prove his commitment, Rashford has taken extra measures, including attending solo training sessions at Carrington. Notably, he trained there last Sunday while his teammates prepared for a disappointing 3-1 loss to Brighton.

Despite Rashford’s efforts, Amorim appears hesitant to reintegrate him into the squad. When asked about the forward’s availability after the Brighton defeat, Amorim said, “Rashford is out at this moment because he’s not playing. No matter what, I’m not going to put in a player that I don’t believe is the best for the team.”

United’s struggles to offload Rashford, coupled with their poor form, have fueled speculation about his potential return.

With a Europa League clash against Rangers looming on Thursday, Rashford could make a sensational comeback. Whether Amorim is willing to utilize the forward remains to be seen.
