The Spanish midfielder praised Williams during AS’ awards ceremony, stating he would “without a doubt” bring the winger to Manchester.
Williams, who impressed at Euro 2024, continues to draw interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool after his pivotal performances, including scoring in Spain’s 2-1 win against England in the final.
With a release clause of €58 million (£48.1m) and reported wage demands of €200,000-a-week (£166,000), signing Williams could be financially feasible for top clubs.
Rodri’s endorsement adds further weight to City’s potential pursuit as they consider bolstering their squad with one of Europe’s brightest talents.

Despite the interest, Williams has expressed a strong connection to Athletic Bilbao, where he currently thrives.
In September, he reaffirmed his commitment, citing the unique emotional connection with the club. However, the winger also left the door open for future opportunities, stating, “Who knows what will happen in the future?”
