Tottenham Hotspur has provided a positive update on Rodrigo Bentancur following a frightening incident during the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Liverpool.
The midfielder fell awkwardly in the sixth minute while attempting to head a corner, with the score still 0-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
His fall immediately alarmed players from both teams, who urgently called for medical assistance.
After nearly ten minutes of treatment on the pitch, Bentancur was stretchered off, with Brennan Johnson coming on as his replacement.
As the first half concluded, Tottenham issued a reassuring statement, confirming that the 27-year-old Uruguay international was conscious and communicating.
He has since been taken to the hospital for further evaluation. Despite the Club appealing for the seven match ban over racist remark on Sun Heung-min he still sustain a head injury by falling on the pitch
The statement read: “We can confirm Rodrigo is conscious, talking, and will go to hospital for further checks.”
