Roy Keane, in his role as a Sky Sports pundit, did not hold back after Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea, expressing disappointment in the team and highlighting a key moment involving Lisandro Martinez.

Keane remarked that Cole Palmer ‘made a fool’ of Martinez with a skillful move and criticized Martinez’s challenge, suggesting he was fortunate to escape a red card. Keane stated, “He’s lucky.
It was a nasty tackle on Palmer, and if he’d been sent off, there’d be no complaints.” Fellow pundit Frank Lampard agreed, adding that the tackle showed clear intent, saying, “He knew he was late and left a bit on him.”
In his broader critique, Keane also singled out Diogo Dalot, who missed a scoring chance.
Reflecting on Dalot’s performance, Keane said, “Top-quality players shouldn’t miss these open goals. Dalot’s miss was frustrating, especially given how United need consistency.”
Keane described the United squad as “average,” expressing concerns about the team’s unpredictability and lack of finishing power.
He lamented that United’s playstyle often relies on moments of individual brilliance rather than cohesive, consistent performances, noting, “This is not good enough for a United team.”
