Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has expressed gratitude to Ruud van Nistelrooy for his influence on Amad Diallo, who delivered a stellar performance in United’s 4-0 win against Everton.

While Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee scored braces to seal Amorim’s first Premier League win, Diallo played a pivotal role, providing assists for two goals and contributing significantly to the team’s attack and defense.

Amorim acknowledged the groundwork laid by Van Nistelrooy, who briefly managed United as an interim coach. Diallo flourished under the Dutchman, and Amorim continues to reap the benefits of that development.

Operating as a makeshift right-wingback, the Ivorian showcased remarkable pressing, passing, and positional awareness, earning plaudits from his manager.

Amorim Highlights Amad’s Potential

Speaking post-match, Amorim described Diallo as “explosive” and “smart,” emphasizing his natural talent and work ethic.

While praising his defensive and offensive contributions, Amorim also noted the player’s need for physical improvement to sustain such high-intensity performances.

He credited Van Nistelrooy for shaping Diallo’s recent form, calling his current brilliance a continuation of the Dutchman’s work.

Van Nistelrooy’s Legacy and Amad’s Future

Van Nistelrooy, now Leicester City’s manager, guided Manchester United through a transitional period, during which Diallo emerged as a key player. Under his brief tenure, the winger recorded two goals and an assist in four games.

Amorim hopes Diallo’s resurgence will continue as the team prepares for a challenging clash against Arsenal midweek.

With Diallo’s exceptional displays and Amorim’s tactical acumen, Manchester United fans will be optimistic about their side’s progress under the new management.
