Despite scoring on his Premier League debut, the 23-year-old striker has failed to net in his subsequent 15 appearances across all competitions, prompting Manchester United to explore options for a potential January loan move.
Juventus has reportedly shown interest in acquiring Zirkzee on loan, with initial discussions already underway.
New United manager Ruben Amorim, who took the reins this season, has been transparent with the club’s board, indicating his preference to bring in a more effective attacking option next summer.
Amorim has set his sights on Viktor Gyokeres, the prolific Sporting CP striker, as a strong candidate to boost United’s forward lineup. However, while Amorim has ruled out transfers involving his former Sporting players in January, he hasn’t dismissed the idea of a move for Gyokeres after the current season.
Sporting CP has signaled they may be open to selling Gyokeres next summer but will demand a significant fee of around £63 million for the Swedish international.
Gyokeres, who joined Sporting last year from Coventry City for £20 million, has showcased his goal-scoring prowess with 66 goals in 68 appearances. His addition could be the spark Amorim seeks to reinvigorate United’s attack, complementing his tactical vision for the club’s future.
