Ruben Amorim’s coaching staff has been unveiled following his appointment as the new manager of Manchester United. After leaving his role at Sporting Lisbon, Amorim is bringing along his backroom team, reportedly valued at £4 million.

His coaching staff will consist of Emanuel Ferro, Adelio Candido, Carlos Fernandes, Jorge Vital, and Paulo Barreira.
Carlos Fernandes, at just 29, has been Amorim’s trusted assistant since their early days together at Benfica. The pair’s bond deepened at Casa Pia, where Fernandes joined Amorim for his first managerial role. Amorim has praised Fernandes, likening him to José Mourinho, expressing confidence in his potential as a future top coach.
Adelio Candido, even younger at 28, is also set to join Amorim’s coaching setup. Candido has worked closely with Amorim and Fernandes since their time at Casa Pia and followed them to Braga and Sporting Lisbon, making him a vital part of the team.
Emanuel Ferro, the third assistant coach, brings a wealth of experience at 45 years old. Amorim has previously entrusted Ferro with media duties and values his insight, making him an integral part of the coaching staff.
Jorge Vital will serve as the goalkeeping coach, having previously worked with Amorim since his tenure at Braga. Known for his expertise in distribution, the 63-year-old is expected to enhance United’s goalkeeping strategy.
Lastly, Paulo Barreira, a sports scientist, is recognized for his work in injury prevention and conditioning. Previously associated with Arsenal, Barreira emphasizes the importance of monitoring player fitness to align with Amorim’s tactical philosophy.
As Amorim prepares for his new role at Old Trafford, the combined experience and synergy of his coaching team are expected to play a crucial role in revitalizing Manchester United’s fortunes this season.
