Ruud van Nistelrooy remains optimistic about Amad Diallo’s availability for Manchester United’s upcoming fixture against Leicester City, following Diallo’s standout performance in their 2-0 Europa League victory over PAOK.

Diallo, who netted both goals for United, became the focal point of the match, first scoring with a well-placed header from Bruno Fernandes’ cross and then demonstrating solo brilliance by winning the ball and curling it into the net with a slight deflection.
However, Diallo’s night ended on a worrying note when he was forced off in the 81st minute, clutching his foot. United’s medical staff attended to him, and he was replaced by Mason Mount.
In a positive sign, Diallo later returned to the pitch barefoot, applauding the fans and sharing his thoughts in an interview, raising hopes for a swift recovery.
Van Nistelrooy praised Diallo’s work ethic, noting his determination to improve with extra training sessions focused on finishing, crossing, and overall technique.
The interim manager shared, “He shows up every day wanting to improve his game—his shot, his heading, his one-on-ones. His second goal tonight showed his resilience and quality.”
Diallo will undergo further assessment, but van Nistelrooy remains hopeful his young star will feature against Leicester.
