Sagna predicts PSG will eliminate Liverpool

Liverpool are leading the Premier League title race with a 13-point gap over Arsenal, but Sagna still believes his former club can challenge them. Arsenal have struggled with injuries, including the absence of Gabriel Jesus, yet they remain in contention for a comeback.

Sagna pointed out that Arsenal’s summer signings have performed well, and although they dropped points against teams like West Ham, their season has been positive. He also suggested that Liverpool’s inconsistency, highlighted by their performance against PSG, could open the door for Arsenal.

Liverpool edged PSG 1-0 in the first leg, with Harvey Elliott scoring late, but they were largely outplayed. Alisson’s heroics kept them ahead, raising doubts about their overall strength. Sagna believes PSG have a strong chance of progressing, which could impact Liverpool’s momentum.

Despite Liverpool’s dominance in the league, Sagna sees PSG as a serious contender for the Champions League title, especially with their refreshed squad. He emphasized that PSG no longer relies on star names like Messi, Neymar, or Mbappe but instead focuses on teamwork and emerging talent.

The former France international highlighted players like Bradley Barcola, who have stepped up in crucial moments. Without the pressure on one superstar, PSG have developed a stronger team dynamic that makes them dangerous.

With PSG dominating Ligue 1, they have the freedom to focus entirely on the Champions League. Their style, confidence, and teamwork could make them the team to beat in Europe this season.

Liverpool are expected to improve at Anfield in the return leg, but Sagna remains unconvinced. He believes PSG’s confidence and attacking prowess could give them the edge in the tie.
