Samuel Chukwueze will now play under Sérgio Conceição, AC Milan’s newly appointed head coach. The club announced Conceição’s arrival on Monday, confirming his contract will run until June 30, 2026.

In an official statement, Milan welcomed the Portuguese tactician: “AC Milan is pleased to announce Sérgio Paulo Marceneiro da Conceição as the Head Coach of the men’s First Team until 30 June 2026.

The Club extends a warm welcome to Sérgio and his staff, wishing them a journey full of success and fulfillment.”

Conceição steps in to replace Paulo Fonseca, who was dismissed after just six months in charge. Fonseca’s tenure came to an end following Milan’s 1-1 draw against Roma on Sunday, a result that left the Rossoneri in a disappointing eighth place in Serie A, 14 points behind joint-leaders Napoli and Atalanta.

In the Champions League, Milan currently sit 12th out of 36 teams, with a record of four wins and two losses from six matches.

Fonseca was initially hired in June to succeed Stefano Pioli, who had led Milan to a league title in 2022—their first in 11 years—and a second-place finish last season.

However, Fonseca struggled to replicate those achievements, prompting the club to make this managerial change.

All eyes are now on Sérgio Conceição to reignite Milan’s fortunes and guide the team back to their winning ways.
