Everton manager Sean Dyche has acknowledged that parting ways with Nigerian international Alex Iwobi was a challenging decision for him and the club, reports Softfootball.com.

Iwobi, who left Goodison Park for Fulham last summer, had joined Everton from Arsenal in 2019 for a reported £28 million and spent four productive years with the Toffees.
As Everton prepares to host Fulham in Saturday’s Premier League match, Iwobi is set to make his first return to Goodison Park since the transfer. Dyche expressed both admiration for Iwobi and understanding of the need for the transfer, describing the Nigerian as
“an excellent servant” during his time at Everton. “
He was a joy to work with,” Dyche said, adding that Iwobi is
“a very good player in my opinion. Not one I wanted to lose but needs must at that time. It was a good fee for a good player,” Dyche told Liverpool World.
The transfer, ultimately seen as financially beneficial for Everton, brought in a valuable fee while allowing Iwobi to embark on a new chapter with Fulham.
