Sergio Aguero has identified Manchester City, Barcelona, and Arsenal as his top three contenders for the Champions League title this season.

The new Champions League format is starting to take shape, with all 36 participating teams playing three matches each.
The English clubs have made a remarkable start, with Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Manchester City currently occupying the top three positions in the standings.
Arsenal sits in ninth place but is level on points with third-placed Manchester City, while reigning champions Real Madrid are in 12th and city rivals Atletico Madrid find themselves in 27th.
Aguero shared his insights during an interview with Stake, stating, “This is a new Champions League format, and I think this year will be full of surprises.” He believes the new setup could allow smaller teams to thrive while complicating matters for bigger clubs.
The legendary striker noted, “I’ve always felt that the favourite to win the tournament is Manchester City, and then Real Madrid, but I also see a very strong Arsenal team.”
Despite acknowledging City’s struggles in some Premier League matches this season, he remains confident in their abilities to control games.
When predicting the finalists, Aguero expressed a belief that this year’s final might feature two teams that no one expects, adding an element of unpredictability to the competition.
In terms of Champions League odds, Manchester City leads the pack at 3/1, followed by Real Madrid at 7/2, Arsenal at 13/2, Barcelona at 8/1, Liverpool at 9/1, Bayern Munich at 10/1, Inter Milan at 18/1, and Paris Saint-Germain at 25/1.
