Despite Arsenal’s title ambitions, Graeme Souness believes they remain a couple of elite strikers away from truly competing with Premier League leaders Liverpool. The former Liverpool midfielder pointed out the “fundamental difference” between the two sides—Liverpool have reliable goal scorers, while Arsenal lack a consistent finisher.

Souness is unconvinced by Kai Havertz, insisting the German international has not improved since his £65m move from Chelsea and is not the clinical forward Arsenal need. While Mikel Arteta has built a strong squad, Souness argues that without proven strikers, the Gunners will continue to fall short in their pursuit of major trophies.

He also highlighted Newcastle’s Alexander Isak as a potential solution, with Arsenal reportedly targeting the Swedish striker in the summer. Souness believes a player of Isak’s caliber could be the missing piece to elevate Arsenal into genuine title-winning contenders.
