Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen is optimistic about Nigeria’s chances of securing a spot at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The team will face the Black Galaxies of Ghana in the second leg of their CHAN qualifier this Saturday, following a tense 0-0 stalemate in the first leg held in Accra last weekend.
Speaking with Kennis FM, Eguavoen expressed full confidence in his team’s ability to deliver when it matters most.
“I am 100% sure that this time around we will turn it around against Ghana,” Eguavoen stated. “I am absolutely confident we will qualify for the CHAN.”
The caretaker coach emphasized the players’ determination to secure victory, highlighting their commitment and preparation for the crucial match.
“The boys are raring to go, and they have promised to give it their all. We just need to pray for a bit of luck to complement their efforts,” he added.
With the stakes high and the second leg set to take place on home soil, Nigerian fans will hope Eguavoen’s confidence inspires a strong performance that seals their spot at the 2024 CHAN tournament.
